Project Description
Summer Celebration is one of the best lawn and garden shows in Tennessee. It is a day filled with gardening workshops, a diagnostic clinic, demonstrations and exhibitions, an outdoor cafe and a marketplace. The Celebration is a free, public event, held on the 2nd Thursday of each July.
Madison County Master Gardener's projects during the event are hosting a plant sale and a hypertufa workshop. At the plant sale there are plants native to Tennessee, plus unusual offerings for purchase cultivated by the UT Gardens Curator - Jason Reeves. Jason is the Ornamental Horticulture Research Associate at WTREC.
Hypertufa is the wonderful art of creating planters, sculptures and yard art out of concrete, peat moss and sand. Your imagination is the only limit to what you can create. The workshop is a hands on experience. Whatever you create can be taken home at the end of the day.
